Vria = Hero, Brave; Bhadra = Virtuous; Asana = Posture

Legs are wide. Front foot is pointed straight to the front of the mat. Back foot is placed at and angle between 45 – 600. Heel grounds firmly into the mat. Hips are rotated square to the front of the mat as the back hip is shifted forward and the front hip shifted back. Front knee is bent at a 900 angle. Knee is stacked directly over the ankle. Arms are stretched overhead and shoulder blades are down and back. Pinky finger side of the hand is turned slightly in. Gaze is forward and chin is parallel to the earth. In CRESCENT LUNGE variation, the back heel is lifted off of the mat.

Benefits of the posture:

  • develops flexibility in the hips and shoulders as it enhances stability.
  • tones abdominal organs
